Beer Lovers Start Here

When it comes to craft beverages in Cabarrus County, there’s a story with every sip. Throughout the county, you’ll find breweries featuring expertly-crafted beers and eclectic bottle shops that satisfy every taste from ales to porters and beyond.

If you’re a beer lover, head to Concord where Buzzed Viking, Cabarrus Brewing, High Branch Brewing, and Southern Strain Brewing Company are creating their own craft brews and hangouts like Local Bottle Shop and Lil Robert’s Place serve up a wide selection. In Harrisburg, try Percent Tap House and Vortex Bottle Shop for Carolina craft flavor. Old Armor is an essential beer stop while in Downtown Kannapolis and Old Well (inside 73 & Main) is a must-visit for micro brews in Mt. Pleasant.

Where to Find Wine

If your idea of fun is more sauvignon than stout, check in at our area’s wineries. Many offer tasting rooms to sample new varietals, as well as comfy seating areas — inside and out — so you can lounge with a glass of your new favorite wine.

Dover Vineyard in Concord offers an irresistible combination of homegrown wine and fresh produce. The owners of Dover Vineyard also own a farm, so visitors can shop locally grown veggies, fruits and flowers. And in Midland, Rocky River Vineyards is a family-owned vineyard that loves a celebration. Check their event calendar to find the next festival, open house or camp-out! They also serve seasonal wine slushies that are not to be missed.

Stops for Spirits and Cider

There’s more than just beer and wine on this tasting tour. Whether you’re a whiskey connoisseur who’s interested in the aging process or someone who prefers a fruity cider in a fun atmosphere, check out and check in at these stops.

At Southern Grace Distilleries in Mount Pleasant, sample award-winning spirits in a highly unusual location: a former prison. Take the Behind Bars tour, or do a deep dive into the distilling process with the Bourbon Experience. In downtown Kannapolis at Tipsy Hare Ciderworks, cider fans can enjoy a variety of fresh flavors inside the county’s first craft cidery or grab their drink to go and wander through West Avenue’s social district.
